With over 35 years in public education, Jodee Brentlinger has held positions ranging from classroom teacher; elementary principal; Director, Teacher Development; Executive Director, Personnel Services; Assistant Superintendent, Personnel Services; Assistant Superintendent, Education Services, and Superintendent. She served in Orange Unified School District; Capistrano Unified School District; Ocean View (Huntington Beach) School District; and, most recently, Solana Beach School District.

Ms. Brentlinger earned her B.A. in liberal studies and her multiple subjects teaching credential from San Diego State University and her M.A. in educational administration from Pepperdine University.

Some of her varied experiences in education included community engagement; labor relations; crisis management; and human relations. She strategically reorganized departments and divisions, creating new job descriptions, conducting and implementing classification studies, leading contract negotiations, and managing collective bargaining agreements, among other tasks. Notably, she weathered a teachers’ strike in 2010, dealt with school closures and reopenings due to the Covid pandemic, and served as Secretary for the North County Region 18 ACSA Board. She also co-created a Leadership Employee Association Partnership with union leaders and employees in the Solana Beach School District.

She is a member of The School Superintendents Association and the Association of California School Administrators.
