Ms. Gerrie Fausett has more than 30 years’ experience in education, having held positions from elementary school teacher to superintendent. She possesses a wide range of experience as a consultant and an investigator, having worked with Santa Barbara Unified School District, Santa Barbara City College, and Santa Barbara County Office of Education.  Ms. Fausett has also served as a candidate screener on various searches and she has conducted superintendent searches for the following school districts:  Santa Paula; Panama Buena Vista; Santa Maria-Bonita; Buellton; Stockton; and Auburn.

Ms. Fausett earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education at Wichita State University and her master’s degree in education administration at Cal State University, Northridge.  She holds a Standard Secondary Credential from Wichita State University; Administrative Services and Reading Specialist credentials from Cal State University, Northridge; and Multiple Subject and Learning Handicapped Credentials from UCLA.

She is involved in several professional activities, including membership in the ACSA Planning Committee for the Annual Superintendent Symposium; SELPA Joint Powers Agency Board; and she served as a writer for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, among other professional and community activities.  She has undertaken many professional development programs such as CLASS (ACSA) Coaching Administrators for Student Success; Legal Issues in Personnel Practices; CSBA School Board Training; Strategies for English Language Learners; and others.

Ms. Fausett is also the recipient of various honors and recognitions, among which are:  recipient of Grant for Best Practices in Technology; Crystal Apple Award for Santa Barbara County (Administrator); Candidate Mentor, National Board for Professional Teaching Standards; and selection as Executive Board member of CASCD.
