Gayle Wayne brings ESS and Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo a rich and varied background in communications research, media development and management, and crisis communication. She has worked to support negotiations from Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo for more than 30 years, assisting districts to build trust and credibility and move discussion forward and away from concerted activities. This background, combined with her early experience as a newspaper reporter, a teacher, and a district-level administrator, bring to her consulting services both expediency and relevance.
Mrs. Wayne completed her bachelor of science degree in journalism from the University of Oregon and advanced degree from UC Berkeley in both business and education administration. She has worked for AASA, ACSA, CSBA, and scores of school districts throughout the country.
Her administrative positions at district levels varied but always included the district communications programs. She enjoyed work at Lompoc Unified School District, Ocean View Elementary, and the Orange County Department of Education. She has been an ACSA State District Administrator of the Year, and even helped Steve Andelson launch the very first edition of the Frisk®manual.
